Welcome!
I’m so glad you’re here!
I appreciate your courage in reaching for what you need.
I share the deep belief, fundamental to the AEDP model, that within each of us is an innate drive towards flourishing, unique to each human and also universal.

Put down the weight of your aloneness and ease into the conversation
~David Whyte~
How can counselling help?
Many of us have experienced suffering caused by life circumstances, trauma, neglect and/or social oppression.
Society promotes individualism and self- reliance, so that when we struggle to manage our difficulties alone, we can feel embarrassed about our ‘neediness’.
We are social beings and our neurology supports us being ‘stronger together’ yet relationships are often the place we experienced our deepest hurt. I believe they are also the place for profound healing.
My intention is to provide a safe enough space where together we will create new relational experiences in the present that are helpful, healing and encourage lasting meaningful change that feels right to you.
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, struggling with depression, need help to manage stress, work related difficulties, or relationship issues – undoing your aloneness and seeking support is a step towards wellness.
Asking for help is a sign of strength!
What to Expect
Logistics
I work from an upstairs therapy room in Richmond, from a ground floor room in my home in Teddington and on Zoom.
Sessions generally take place at the same time each week and last 50 minutes for individuals or 60 minutes for couples. If your schedule needs more flexibility, we will explore possibilities together.
What happens at the first meeting?
Our first meeting is a mutually beneficial session which gives me the opportunity to consider whether I am an appropriate therapist to support you, and allows you the chance to get a feel for whether you are comfortable enough to work with me.
If we decide to continue our work together we’ll agree a convenient time for ongoing sessions.
How long will I need to come for counselling?
It is very difficult to predict how a course of counselling will progress.
Sometimes people choose to come for short contracts typically 12 -16 sessions to address a specific problem. In this case we will agree a focus for the work when we meet for the first time.
Some people want to explore their feelings in greater depth and this is a very individual process. Many come for between six and eighteen months and a few for several years.
However if we work together we will regularly take time to reflect on how counselling is meeting your needs and whether you want to continue, so you need never fear that you are tied into an endless contract.
